DanceSafe Expands Its Impact to 9 New US Locations
Last Updated: August 1, 2022
DanceSafe is proud to announce eight brand new Preliminary DanceSafe Chapters in cities across the United States! These Chapters are comprised of community members who will continue to provide what DanceSafe has provided for 20 years now – harm reduction at a local level. As it becomes increasingly necessary for harm reduction services, these new Chapters will help educate, inform, and provide necessary harm reduction tools to a variety of new people. We are enormously proud of the work that has gone into the creation of these soon-to-be chapters, and look forward to the important and meaningful work that will come out of them!
Bay Area DanceSafe – We are excited to announce that Bay Area DanceSafe will be re-launching! DanceSafe originally started in the Bay Area and we are excited to get back to our roots. With a rich nightlife community, San Francisco is a perfect place for DanceSafe to provide service to those in need and educate the community.
Twin Cities DanceSafe – Twin Cities DanceSafe will draw from a wide toolkit of harm reduction tactics to serve the Twin Cities and surrounding areas. Please welcome Twin Cities DanceSafe into the DanceSafe team!
Orlando DanceSafe – With its booming nightlife community, DanceSafe and Orlando go hand in hand. Now with two chapters in Florida, DanceSafe will continue to expand at a local level, helping to provide harm reduction services to an increasingly growing nightlife scene in Orlando and its surrounding area.
Texas DanceSafe – Texas DanceSafe will initially be focused on servicing Austin, Dallas, and Houston with the goal of splitting off into three separate Chapters as capacity increases across all three cities. For now, welcome Texas DanceSafe to the DanceSafe Team!
Ohio DanceSafe – Ohio has become a hotspot for fentanyl overdoses. In the state, fentanyl overdoses accounted for 58% of all overdoses, up from 4% in 2013. Ohio DanceSafe will provide services to test a wide variety of substances, as well as providing information about safe sex, hearing damage, and many other harm reduction techniques to Oberlin, Cleveland, Columbus, and the surrounding areas.
Pittsburgh DanceSafe – With large concert venues such as The Stage AE, Rex Theater, and Mr. Smalls Fun House, Pittsburgh is undeniably in need of DanceSafe’s services. We look forward to launching DanceSafe Pittsburgh and servicing yet another city in the Northeast.
Western NY DanceSafe – DanceSafe has long had a strong presence in NY with our New York DanceSafe Chapter based in New York City. We’re excited to expand our coverage in the New York Area to include Western NY!
