DanceSafe Postpones The Crystal Method FundRager in Denver, CO Due to COVID-19 Outbreak
Last Updated: July 26, 2022
It’s with deep sadness that we are writing to let you know that we have rescheduled the 2020 DanceSafe FundRager due to the rapid spreading of the COVID-19 virus. Denver has imposed a per-event cap in the city under 10% of our expected sell out, and with the calls to ‘flatten the curve’ of the exposure, we believe that it is our civic duty as a public health nonprofit to postpone the fundraiser.
The new FundRager date is now Saturday, July 25th, and The Crystal Method (both Ken and Scott) are still confirmed to play! This event will still take place at EXDO in Denver, CO and we look forward to using this extra planning time to deliver an even better event.
If you have already purchased a presale ticket and wish to attend in July, you don’t have to do anything, as your ticket is valid for the new date. If you can no longer attend, look for an email on instructions for how to get a full refund of your purchase.
Tickets for this new date will go on sale at a later time, and will come with a guaranteed refund policy if public gatherings are still banned in late July. We will be sure to keep you up-to-date as things continue to evolve.
In the meantime, it is important to educate yourself about the COVID-19 outbreak and measures you can take to protect the health and safety of both yourself and your community members, including friends and family. While the developments are fastly changing, current harm reduction measures include:
- Stay at home if you feel sick! There will always be other shows.
- Take social distancing and quarantine requests seriously.
- Avoid touching your (or others) eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Do not share drinks, water bottles, or finger foods.
- Don’t forget to use your own straw or tooter if you are snorting substances!
- Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, throw that tissue in the trash, and then wash your hands.
- Wash your hands often with soap for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing–BASICALLY WASH THEM ALL THE TIME.
- Bring hand sanitizer for when you can’t wash your hands. Share liberally with others.
- You are more susceptible to getting sick when you are run-down, not sleeping well, or partying routinely–take this opportunity to rest, eat well, and get your immune system ready for festival season.
- While you may feel your immune system is strong, many people in our community have underlying (and often invisible) conditions that could make them more vulnerable. Their feelings and fears are valid, so please do not ridicule them.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray.
- Get information about COVID-19 from fact-based, public health sources. Address any related misinformation and racism in the community.

What isn’t readily available, and which is being left out of the conversation, is the mental health impact this pandemic will likely have. If you are feeling particularly alienated, we encourage video chats or phone calls over texts or simply relying on social media for interaction. Gentle exercise at home, like yoga, stretching, and light cardio can also help increase endorphins during a particularly stressful time. Or, take this well deserved time off to get caught up on your favorite series.
We also understand the huge economic impact the social distancing and event cancellations will have on our supporters who do not have the privilege to take time off of work, who do not have the option to work from home, or whose income is directly impacted by the canceling of mass gatherings; we see you and are here for you. We are hopeful that together, we will overcome this, and will be an even stronger community on the other side of the chaos. Until then, please stay safe. We care greatly about you.
As always, thank you all so much for your support.
