Healing Is Power

Healing is Power

A graphic of the Healing is Power title with a black butterfly next to it.

Power dynamics are present everywhere in the world, including (and especially) in the music industry. Healing is Power consists of 8 mini-courses about the most pressing topics relating to consent and power, including nuanced and specific conversations about sex, drugs, age, identity, race, consent (of course), and how all of the above intersect with each other.

Healing is Power content is for: fans, artists, management, venues, event producers, and anyone else who interacts with other human beings (so… everyone!). This knowledge is essential for dismantling rape culture and building a consent culture within music and nightlife communities.

This campaign covers:

  1. Power Dynamics & Consent
  2. Drugs & Consent
  3. Public Figure Integrity & Responsibility
  4. Grooming
  5. Bystander Intervention
  6. Supporting Survivors
  7. Societal Healing

Each topic includes a full deck of graphics and a set of accompanying resources. All materials are further down on this page.

In this collaboration, our organizations wish to recognize that we cannot participate in work focused on safety, anti-violence, and consent without also recognizing the role of historical and contemporary colonialism in creating violence in our communities today. Dismantling rape culture and building a consent culture also requires dismantling racism, sexism, and other colonial ideals, including how settler exploitation and white supremacy can (and do) show up in organizations and institutions doing nonprofit work.
