#TestIt Alert: Counterfeit Tesla tablet circulating Charleston, SC area
Last Updated: August 1, 2022
By: DanceSafe Staff
An atypically-shaped pink Tesla tablet was sold as MDMA but tested as methamphetamine and caffeine. The pill was sourced and submitted to Ecstasydata.org from Charleston, SC. According to EcstasyData.org, the Marquis reagent turned light orange, Mecke had a very slight change to red, and Mandelin only fizzed.
Set, setting, and harm reduction methods will be different for methamphetamine and caffeine versus MDMA. Please do your research on how you can minimize risks associated with stimulant use–a great resource can be found here. Basic harm reduction tips include:
- Getting sufficient sleep before consuming
- Eating, if possible, before use since stimulants can decrease appetite
- Hydrating and keeping sugar-free gum around to stimulate saliva production to avoid complications arising from dry-mouth
- Avoiding substance use, like alcohol, that further dehydrates you
- Taking breaks between uses, as tolerance breaks can lead to a much easier comedown
We urge our community to keep in mind that drug markets are expansive and that this tablet may appear in locations other than the submission’s origins. Always test before you ingest to avoid ingesting misrepresented substances, and so you can adjust your intention, set, and setting appropriately to minimize risks. Purchase your DanceSafe drug checking kit here.
If you test a misrepresented substance, please submit it to testit@dancesafe.org to be featured in a #TestIt Alert.
The purpose of #TestIt Alerts is to alert the public to misrepresented substances circulating in their region. We neither condemn nor condone drug use, but rather want people to be aware of what they are ingesting so they can take steps to minimize risks.
Since 1998, DanceSafe has been keeping the electronic music and nightlife communities safe. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we provide free harm reduction services at music festivals and nightlife events across the nation.
