#TestIt Alert issued for New York, NY & Ventura, CA
Last Updated: August 1, 2022
By: Lucille L., Communications & Social Media Intern, DanceSafe
A capsule containing a tan, crystalline substance sold as MDMA was sourced from Ventura, CA but submitted from New York, NY. This sample tested as Methylone, a synthetic cathinone. According to EcstasyData.org, the Marquis reagent turned yellow, the Mecke reacted a yellow/orange color, and Mandelin turned orange. The sender notes state that they reagent-tested the sample before sending, and the results were: “Marquis – Yellow; Mecke – Brown; Mandelin – Yellow; Simon – No Reaction.”
We urge our community to keep in mind that drug markets are expansive and these substances may appear in locations other than the submission’s origins, as is evidenced by the distance between where this substance was sourced and where it was submitted.
Always test before you ingest to avoid ingesting misrepresented substances. Purchase your DanceSafe drug checking kit here.
If you test a misrepresented substance, please submit it to testit@dancesafe.org to be featured in a #TestIt Alert.
