#TestIt Alert Issued for Willimantic, CT and the General Public
Last Updated: February 13, 2023
A sample of white “rocks” that was sold as cocaine tested positive for fentanyl in Willimantic, Connecticut. The sample was tested twice using fentanyl test strips, and both results were positive for the presence of fentanyl (or a fentanyl analogue). The Marquis, Mecke, and Mandelin reagents were also used to test the sample, which showed results of potential amphetamine also being present in the sample, although the tests were not conclusive.
This instance demonstrates the importance of using both reagents and fentanyl test strips when conducting drug checking for all substances. Remember, fentanyl is lethal at small doses. If you can, always carry Naloxone on you. You can learn more about how to use fentanyl test strips here.
We urge our community to keep in mind that drug markets are expansive and these substances may appear in locations other than the submission’s origins. Always test before you ingest to avoid ingesting a misrepresented substance! Purchase your DanceSafe drug checking kit here.
If you test a misrepresented substance, submit your drug checking results to us to be featured in a #TestIt Alert.
