Attention all DanceSafers! Protecting Yourself from Unauthorized Products

What has happened: 

Unfortunately, we continue to discover unauthorized brands using the DanceSafe name and/or logo to market products that are not official DanceSafe products. These counterfeit/bootleg items may appear convincing, but they are not manufactured, affiliated, endorsed, sponsored by, nor approved by DanceSafe.  

Why is this Important? 

The unauthorized use of the DanceSafe logo could increase the very harm that DanceSafe aims to mitigate.  For the safety and integrity of our community, please do not purchase these products. DanceSafe has not endorsed these items, the companies/brands marketing the items, and  DanceSafe makes absolutely no guarantee on their safety, efficacy, nor integrity.

What do these products look like?

Some unauthorized products are shown below.  Again, these products are NOT endorsed, approved, or authorized by DanceSafe.  Please note these product images will be updated as we learn about them. Again, these products are NOT endorsed, approved, nor authorized by DanceSafe.

How to take action: 

DanceSafe needs your help!  Please help us maintain the integrity and mission of DanceSafe.  If you notice someone selling, giving away, or otherwise marketing an unauthorized product (the products above or other products), please let us know. 

If possible, please e-mail [email protected] and share the following:

• photos and/or screenshots of the product that depicts DanceSafe’s name and/or logo
• any contact information you may have
• as much other detail as possible (ie how you can into contact with the product, where were you, etc) 

Best Practices: 

For the health and safety or our community, and to ensure the legitimacy of what you buy and/or receive, please engage in the following practices:

• Only purchase official DanceSafe products.  Please be aware Dancesafe never has and never will manufacture or endorse a product containing mind altering substances.

• Authentic DanceSafe products are available at DanceSafe authorized booths at events, on our website at dancesafe.org/shop/, or from authorized distributors and resellers (online and in person).  If your product didn’t come from a verified source, the vendor is likely unauthorized.

• • DanceSafe’s authorized resellers are brands and organizations (online and/or brick and mortar locations) that resell our harm reduction supplies and products (they do not give these items away for free).  
  • DanceSafe’s authorized distributors are Special Service Providers (SSPs), social service agencies, state health departments, schools, hospital systems, physical and mental health providers, harm-reduction organizations, and other organizations who distribute DanceSafe supplies and products for free (not for sale) to those accessing their services and/or to the public.  
  • DanceSafe’s authorized artist affiliations, event sponsorships, and collaborations are engagements and campaigns with artists, event promoters, or other official organizations aligned with DanceSafe’s mission and non-profit purpose.  Any related products from these affiliations, sponsorships, and collaborations will also be marketed and promoted via DanceSafe’s website and social media.
