UPDATED: Reagent Instructions & Heatstroke Pamphlet
Last Updated: June 18, 2024
After months (and months) of hard work, we’re ready to release our newly updated reagent instructions and heatstroke informational pamphlets! Both of them will be sent to print within the next week, and existing PDFs will be updated on our website in the next few days.

What’s changed:
- Fentanyl test strip instructions are no longer embedded in the reagent pamphlet. Instead, a separate fentanyl test strip pamphlet will be included with each reagent kit.
- Outdated reagent instructions for MDA, cocaine, and 2C-B have been updated.
- The structure, flow, and formatting of the pamphlet has been changed to improve readability.
- A significant amount of text has been taken out and simplified.
- The color chart now includes actual images of reagent reactions (or gradient circles where images are not yet available). Some drugs are now known to have multiple possible reaction colors.
- An FAQ has been added.
- We’ve adjusted our language and guidance around reading reagent results, which we now frame as “expected” or “unexpected” reactions.

What’s changed:
- The entire design, layout, and contents of the pamphlet have been redone.
- More information has been added about the distinction between heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
- Note: Our heatstroke pamphlets are currently only distributed through outreach, and are not available for purchase on our website. Anyone is welcome to print and use the PDFs.
Thank you for all your support, and please share your feedback on these new designs in the comments of our social media announcement posts (or here)! We do take feedback into consideration and will try to implement as much of it as possible when we print the next round of pamphlets.
