Erica Darragh Joins the Team
Last Updated: July 26, 2022
We’re (way) late on this announcement, but we are so proud to announce that Erica Darragh has been holding down the fort on the DanceSafe team since June of this year! Erica is a celebrated and loved member of the harm reduction community, and we are honored to be able to work alongside her. Drumroll, please…
Erica Darragh: Chapter Development Coordinator
Erica (she/her) is a community organizer working at the intersections of harm reduction, consent education, and digital rights. She has been volunteering with DanceSafe since 2014 and holds the roles of Georgia Chapter Director and Outreach Coordinator. She became involved with DanceSafe through Students for Sensible Drug Policy, and served on SSDP’s 2019-2021 board of directors.
Erica has also volunteered extensively with MAPS, as well as the Zendo Project at Burning Man, and serves as a ranger and Sanctuary co-lead at Love Burn, the southeast’s sanctioned regional burn. She has experience working with the festival psychedelic harm reduction group Harmonia, as well as 11th Principle: Consent and Sunrise Movement, a youth-led climate justice organization. She is currently a staff member of Fight for the Future, a leading digital rights advocacy organization.
Erica began her role as DanceSafe’s Chapter Development Coordinator in June. She is assisting with the restructuring and evolution of DanceSafe’s systems around outreach, volunteer recruitment/training/retainment, and Chapter development. Her intersectional organizing background offers a unique skill set, and her years of on-the-ground experience with DanceSafe give her a deep understanding of Chapter needs.
We cannot overstate how excited we are to be able to learn from and with Erica. This announcement comes after she has already made substantial contributions to our team and community, and we can’t wait to continue expanding our services with her hands on deck!
