It’s a Party: Welcoming Justine Fritch and Bry Law!
Last Updated: July 26, 2022
It’s always extremely exciting for us, as a very small nonprofit team, to be able to bring new folks into the fold. We’re tickled to announce the additions of Justine Fritch (Legal Extern, onboarded January 2022) and Bry Law (Administrative Associate, onboarding April 2022) to our family, two remarkable individuals who are playing integral parts in pushing DanceSafe to the next level! (They’re also really cool people.)
Let’s meet our newest additions!
Justine Fritch (she/her): Legal Extern
Justine lives in Boston with her fiancé and her soon-to-be 16 yr old mini-schnauzer, Odie. She has a B.S. in Health Science and is currently in her last year of a combined JD/MPH program with Northeastern and Tufts Universities. Her academic work has primarily focused on the intersections between drug laws and public health, as well as access to health care in its many different forms. Before her current adventure in law school, Justine managed a small, integrative medical office in Portland, ME where she learned about how people experience health care directly from their diverse group of patients. She is dedicated to advancing harm reduction philosophies and practices throughout our existing legal and healthcare structures and to making health care more accessible and supportive for all. When she is not doing homework or playing with her dog, she enjoys visiting friends and family in Maine, all things having to do with tarot, and listening to two of her favorite artists, Shpongle and Britney Spears. She is thrilled to be working with DanceSafe this semester, as they were instrumental in introducing her to the fields of harm reduction and drug policy advocacy which are now such important cornerstones of her personal journey.
Bry Law (any pronouns): Administrative Associate
Bry Law (they/she/any) is joining DanceSafe as an Administrative Associate to support the organization’s ever-growing financial, operations, and human resources administration needs. She is an abolitionist, experienced organizer, and self-declared administrative wizard who’s passionate about building a more inclusive, equitable, and just world. Their diverse, values-driven background encompasses work as an Education Program Coordinator for the Concert Career Pathways Program at The UC Theatre and as a Volunteer Coordinator and Field Manager for political campaigns during the 2016 election cycle.
Bry’s journey with DanceSafe started in 2017 when she began volunteering at events in Florida, and they currently serve as a Chapter Officer for the Bay Area Chapter. She’s also volunteered at events providing harm reduction services with Wormhole Cares, peer support with Harmonia, and worked as a stagehand, production runner, and lighting technician.
In addition to their work with DanceSafe, Bry serves as a Program Coordinator on the Restorative Justice Project at Impact Justice, where they assist with the training and technical assistance efforts supporting the launch of pre-charge restorative justice diversion programs across the country. She’s also a proud member of Impact Justice United (OPEIU Local 29).
